LIEUTENANT GRAHAM JOHNS, The Scots Guards, was born in October 1897, and was at Loretto (Junior Schoo]) from 1910 to 1912. From thence he went to Cheltenham College. On leaving school he matriculated at Caius College, Cambridge. During an action at Ypres in 1917 Lieut. Johns was severely wounded. He was sent back to England, and was hors de combat until March 1918, when he returned to the front. He was killed in action on September 27, 1918.
C2nd Lieutentant Roland Ivan Johnston, 3rd (reserve) Battalion, The Royal Irish Rifles, was born September 22, 1885. He was at Loretto from Oct.ober 1897 to December 1898, and then went to Marlborough. He served with his Battalion on the Western Front; with the B.E.F.; and was killed in action in France in August 1918.
CAPTAIN JOHN SUTCLIFFE JOWETT, 1/5th Battalion (Terr.) The Manchester Regiment, was born in March 1894, and was at Loretto from 1908 to 1913. He was a Sergeant in the School O.T.C. When war broke out he was given a commission in a Territorial Battalion of the Manchester Regiment, and went out to Gallipoli in October 1915, where he served with the East Lancashire Division. After the evacuation of the Peninsula, Capt. Jowett served with the British E:x;peditionary Force in France. He was wounded very severely on August 18, 1918, and died of his wounds at Le Treport Hospital on September 22, 1918.
